ArmInfo. Armenia's cooperation with the US and EU is not directed against Russia, as stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a press conference in Yerevan on May 26. The briefing took place immediately following a brief official visit by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the Armenian capital.
When asked to comment on a recent statement by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, who claimed that "the leadership of Armenia is seeking protection directly from the source of the threat," Mirzoyan replied that he did not understand the meaning behind those words and suggested that journalists direct their inquiries to the author of the statement.
"Yerevan is interested in constructive, healthy discussions with Moscow on all matters. Our cooperation with any single nation is not directed against a third country. Armenia's cooperation with the United States and the EU is not directed against Russia, just as our cooperation with Russia is not directed against the United States, China, or Iran," the Armenian Foreign Minister declared.
