ArmInfo. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia will hold an open meeting regarding the cancellation of the registration of the Alliance progressive centrist party, led by Tigran Urikhanyan, for participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections on June 7. The CEC of Armenia reported that the meeting will be held in connection with the political party's application to deregister its electoral list.
Earlier, Tigran Urikhanyan, Chairman of the Alliance party, stated on the Public Television of Armenia that all parties unable to meet the minimum electoral threshold—yet choosing to remain in the race—effectively secure the votes necessary for the victory of incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his team. "Without misusing invested resources, time, health, nerves, and financial funds, we are withdrawing from the race, proving that the Alliance party is a genuine, anti-establishment opposition. We maintain our commitment to a radical struggle and to mobilizing a popular wave if, God forbid, they win these elections," Urikhanyan declared.
