ArmInfo. Neither US Vice President JD Vance, French President Emmanuel Macron, nor US Secretary of State Marco Rubio should decide the fate of Armenia. Arman Tatoyan, the prime ministerial candidate from the "Wings of Unity" party, made this statement in a video address posted on his Facebook page ahead of Rubio's upcoming visit to Yerevan.
The politician expressed his conviction that all such visits pursue one goal: to demonstrate support for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ahead of the country's June parliamentary elections and influence their outcome. "First US Vice President J.D. Vance, then French President Emmanuel Macron, and now US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. And in the end, it will turn out that Pashinyan's true political 'father' is Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and he will also come to support his election campaign. It's not for nothing that people call him a 'shuffler.' You simply lack the courage to advance your campaign on your own," Tatoyan stated.
In this regard, he addressed Armenian voters, noting that Armenia's fate should be decided by its own people. "No one should make decisions for you. Therefore, I ask you to go to the polls, and do so in large numbers. Vote for our strength, for the sake of Armenian statehood and our national interests," the leader of the Wings of Unity party concluded.
Recall, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to arrive in Armenia on May 26. The itinerary includes a meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Marco Rubio, followed by a joint press statement.
