
ArmInfo. Approximately one-third of respondents in Armenia would cast their votes for Nikol Pashinyan's ruling "Civil Contract" party if parliamentary elections were held this coming weekend, according to the "Antifungal" survey data released by the MPG consulting company.
When asked specifically which party they would vote for if the elections were held this coming Sunday, 28.8% of respondents named Pashinyan's party, 14.9% chose the "Strong Armenia" bloc led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, 12.1% favored the "Armenia" bloc led by the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, 8.7% selected the "Prosperous Armenia" party led by businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, and 5.8% backed the "Wings of Unity" party led by former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan. The remaining political forces failed to cross the 4% electoral threshold. Meanwhile, 8.6% of those surveyed refused to answer, and an additional 3.4% found it difficult to answer.
When asked whether they plan to participate in the upcoming June parliamentary elections, 59.3% of respondents answered "definitely yes," 14% said they "rather will," 11.4% indicated they "rather will not," 8.3% said "definitely not," and another 7% found it difficult to answer. Interestingly, during the April poll, 51.9% of respondents stated they would "definitely" vote, 8.6% said they "rather would," 5.2% indicated they "rather would not," 9.5% said they would not participate, and another 24.8% found it difficult to answer.
It should be noted that the survey was conducted via telephone calls to residents of the Republic of Armenia from May 19 to 21 of this year. The sample size was 1,102 people, with a margin of error of +/- 3%. In 2011, MPG became the official representative of the Gallup Association in Armenia, one of the most prestigious and independent public opinion research organizations in the world.
