ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan threatened the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan, with the confiscation of the Ararat Cement Plant for the benefit of the state.
Speaking at a pre-election rally in the city of Akhtala, Pashinyan claimed that Gagik Tsarukyan is also a foreign spy. "I'm telling you straight out: very soon, the business foundation of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Tsarukyan, the Ararat Cement Plant, will become state-owned and will belong to Armenia. In the near future, just as we appointed a manager for the power grid, we will also appoint a manager for the Ararat Cement Plant. I congratulate all the workers of the Ararat Cement Plant on their dismissal," the Armenian leader noted.
He noted that the education level of the Prosperous Armenia Party leader is below par. Moreover, Tsarukyan's son-in-law, former Abovyan mayor Karapet Guloyan, has done nothing but embezzle state property. "These people built their wealth on robbery. Just as I promised in 2021 that there would be trials against the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Plant, I now assure you that the backbone of Tsarukyan's business, the Ararat Cement Plant, will very soon become state property," the RA Prime Minister stated.
Ararat Cement Plant (Araratcement CJSC) is owned by the Armenian diversified concern Multi Group, founded by businessman and politician Gagik Tsarukyan. The company is located in the city of Ararat and is one of the largest cement producers in the country. In 2002, the plant was privatized by Multi Group and renamed Araratcement CJSC.
