ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's "flirtation" with the European Union will lead the country's economy into an even more deplorable condition. This opinion was expressed by Rosa Chemeris, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
Pashinyan previously stated that during his April visit to the Russian Federation, he informed Russian leader Vladimir Putin of his inability to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9, citing the start of the election campaign for the upcoming June parliamentary elections.
"Apparently, it is more important for Pashinyan to play his own music in tandem with outgoing European leaders for the sake of Armenia's unlikely accession to the EU, rather than developing and supporting long- standing mechanisms of interaction with other states within the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union). That this will bring Armenia's economy into an even more deplorable state is obvious to everyone, except for Pashinyan, who submissively accompanies a poor European orchestra," the MP said in an interview with TASS.
According to her, Pashinyan announced his decision to withdraw from the Victory Day parade in Moscow immediately following the visit of several European leaders to Yerevan on May 4, during which he "made it clear how important interaction and possible future accession to the European Union are for his country."
