ArmInfo. During a criminal investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, instances of electoral bribery—both offering and receiving—and the obstruction of the free exercise of voting rights were uncovered.
According to the Committee's press service, procedural actions carried out in cooperation with police officers yielded information that individuals close to an ethnic Armenian businessman residing in Orenburg promised bribes to a number of voters. These bribes, intended to secure votes for the "Strong Armenia" party in the upcoming National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, reportedly involved the partial cancellation of debts and other incentives.
Furthermore, the same individuals allegedly attempted to obstruct the free exercise of electoral rights for several residents of the Sisian community in the Syunik province through threats of violence.
The RA Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated a criminal case regarding these incidents. Several individuals have been detained, and searches and other procedural actions have been conducted.
"The RA Anti-Corruption Committee strongly urges all citizens who possess information regarding the offering of bribes or any other violation of the law to contact the Committee immediately, including anonymously. The confidentiality of citizen data is guaranteed by law," the agency's statement reads.
