ArmInfo. During his official visit to Poland, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan held a private meeting with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, followed by a meeting in an expanded format. "We expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation, emphasizing that it is being effectively implemented in accordance with the 2026 bilateral plan signed between the ministries of defense of our two countries," Papikyan wrote on his Facebook page.
He noted that military education, exchange of expertise, and participation in joint exercises were identified as priority areas for future cooperation. The importance of implementing military-technical cooperation within the framework of the agreement signed in February of this year was also discussed. "We agreed to continue discussions in Yerevan. I invited Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh to visit Armenia. An agreement was also reached to open a Defense Attache office at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Warsaw in the near future. Views were exchanged on regional and international security issues," the Minister wrote.
It should be noted that the agreement signed in Warsaw on February 26 of this year, according to an official statement, laid the legal basis for in-depth military-technical cooperation between the defense ministries of Armenia and Poland. Under the agreement, the parties agreed to establish clear procedures and principles for cooperation in the procurement of military products, define mechanisms for protecting classified and confidential information during joint projects, regulate the terms of sale or transfer of jointly produced or acquired products to third parties, and establish a joint commission to manage and resolve disputes within the framework of military-technical cooperation. The document was signed during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Poland.
