


ArmInfo. At the invitation of the Russian Minister of Sport and President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Mikhail Degtyarev, a delegation led by Gagik Tsarukyan, President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, visited Moscow from April 14 to 16.
According to the NOC press service, Gagik Tsarukyan met with his Russian counterpart, discussed prospects for the development of sports between Armenia and the Russian Federation, and touched upon the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing joint initiatives on international sports platforms.
Mikhail Degtyarev warmly congratulated Gagik Tsarukyan on his election as President of the Eurasian Association of Sports Cooperation and wished him effective and fruitful work, expressing hope that this platform will contribute to enhancing the sporting potential of various countries. Gagik Tsarukyan noted that the chairmanship of the Eurasian Association of Sports Cooperation opens new opportunities for deepening cooperation.
"Armenia is ready to become a bridge between Europe, Asia, and Russia in discussing problems and issues related to sports and finding fair solutions," the NOC President remarked, adding that sport is above politics and it is unfair that athletes and sport itself suffer as a result of political processes. The parties attached great importance to deepening bilateral cooperation and agreed to hold such meetings on a regular basis to promote the Olympic ideals and develop global sports.
