Francophonie days to kick off in Yerevan with opening of 6th French  Film Festival

ArmInfo. Days of Francophonie will kick off in Yerevan soon.

As the press service of the French Embassy in Armenia told ArmInfo,  the festive events will start on March 18 with the opening of the 6th  French Film Festival, which will last until March 26 inclusive.

The film screening will traditionally take place at the "Moscow"  cinema. The 6th French Film Festival is organized by the French  Embassy/French Institute in Armenia in partnership with the Embassies  of Switzerland, Canada and Belgium.

During this important cinematic meeting, held within the framework of  the Days of Francophonie, nine films made in recent years and not yet  shown in Armenia will be shown at the "Moscow" cinema. Comedy, drama,  animated film - the multi-genre program will interest everyone.  Entrance to the event is free.

In addition, on March 17 at 11:00 am, the "Feminist Diplomacy"  conference will be held at the library of the French University in  Armenia. Within the framework of the Days of Francophonie, women  ambassadors of the member countries of the International Organization  of Francophonie, who are in Armenia, will discuss with students  issues related to feminist diplomacy.

From March 17 to April 20, within the framework of the Francophonie  Days, the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia will present three  concert programs in cooperation with the French Embassy/French  Institute in Armenia.

Moreover, for the second year in a row, the French Embassy/French  Institute in Armenia together with the "Filmadaran" NGO are  organizing a cinema club dedicated to French cinema in the National  Library of Armenia. The event will run from March 28 to April 25. The  repertoire includes films from the cinemas of the 1930s to the  present day.

"Emphasizing the importance of the French language and the value of  French-speaking cultures, "Days of Francophonie 2023" presents more  than twenty events in Yerevan and the regions. The program is multi-  genre: cinema, music, theater, debates, contemporary art, a French  language competition. The events are organized by the French Embassy,  the French Institute and other embassies of member countries and  observers of the International Organization of the Francophonie, as  well as cultural and educational institutions of Armenia," the French  Embassy in Armenia said in a statement.
